Regardless of your perspective on Liberty University’s theology (either positive or negative), LU has been in the distance learning game for quite some time and offers a number of degrees at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

HippoCampus supports your online learning

If you are looking for additional instruction in a limited number of courses, I recommend that you take a look at HippoCampus.org. While it does not offer many courses, the ones it does are available for free. With significant course preparation using audio and video components, it is well worth taking a looking.

The subjects areas (with a few courses each) presently offered are:

1. Algebra
2. American Government
3. Biology
4. Calculus
5. Environmental Science
6. Physics
7. Religion
8. U.S. History

Some courses even support Advanced Placement (AP) classes.

Kaplan University offers new online high school

Kaplan Virtual Education, a subsidiary of global education provider Kaplan, Inc., today announced the opening of Kaplan University High School, an online national high school.

“Kaplan University High School will provide students with a high-quality online curriculum that will be delivered by experienced certified teachers,” said Charles Thornburgh, President of Kaplan Virtual Education. “The online high school offers an innovative and flexible way for traditional and nontraditional-aged students to earn a diploma to enhance their career opportunities or go on to college.”

New Hampshire gets new online high school

A new opportunity for online high school students begins in January. New Hampshire is starting its first state-wide online high school. It will be free for New Hampshire students, but there will be fees for out-of-state students.

After many years of planning, NH?s first statewide on-line high school, the Virtual Learning Academy Charter School, is scheduled to make its Internet debut in January 2008. The Virtual Learning Academy?s goal is to use the latest internet technologies to provide NH?s high school students any time, any where access to a rigorous, personalized education that helps them learn today, graduate tomorrow and prepare for the future.
