I readily admit that I am a statistics nerd. I use data to help make decisions. Recently, I have been given more data about Best Online High Schools. In particular, it now tells about visitors and their locations. For December, the first two countries listed are no surprise. The third one…?

Not surprisingly, the largest group comes from the United States. There are a number of reasons for this not the least of which is that is where I live and write. Also, the U.S. education system is increasingly open to distance learning.

The second group comes from Canada. Still not a surprise. The educational systems are similar and they are English-speaking. Also, quite open to distance learning.

In December, Dominica came in third. Dominica? It is an island located in the Caribbean and is most famous in the U.S. as a place that Christopher Columbus sighted in the Americas. Which is to say that it is not well-known here. Much of the island is a rainforest and from pictures I have seen, it is quite beautiful.

Things like this just make me curious because I have no idea why they might be visiting (but I am certainly grateful that they do so). Perhaps someone from Dominica might post a comment here and let us all know.
