Arianna Kurtz attends Arizona Connections Academy. It gives her a great deal of flexibility in her day-to-day life. Before Connections Academy, she was homeschooled from kindergarten to seventh grade. Here are some of her thoughts on making the switch:
I was really interested in switching to an online school because I knew it would help me excel, plus it was a new vibe! The technology is getting more advanced, and considering that Connections Academy is an online school and I’d constantly be using the computer, it would give me an edge with regard to computer knowledge. Plus, change is always good, and with a change in schoolwork and teachers, I thought Connections Academy would be a great idea!
The reasons for switching to online schooling from traditional homeschool varies from student to student and Arianna was certainly no exception.
One reason for many parents to make the change is that, as a child gets older, it becomes more challenging to provide them with learning in all of the subject areas. This is particularly true for math and science.
By switching to online schooling, parents retain much of the same control over the child’s education, but they get the support of the online school in ensuring that all of their bases are covered.
